Something about the tightly spaced, somewhat cryptic Blackletter script makes it a perfect match for spooky season!
In this brand new class Omaha artist and calligrapher, Cheryl Dyer, will guide students in learning the basics of a simple blackletter script. After a brief history of Blackletter and an overview of the tools and materials, Cheryl will teach each lowercase letter and demonstrate to students in how to make uppercase versions. The class will finish off with students making Halloween-themed bookmarks!
Students will leave class with a detailed exemplars and guide sheets for practice at home as well as all supplies provided in class. No calligraphy experience (or good handwriting!) needed. Advanced or intermediate students will also benefit from guidance by an experienced instructor.
