Mini Envelope Addressing Class-- FREE and Online!

In this mini-class, I’ll demonstrate how I address envelopes in calligraphy. I’ll cover how to best format your address list you’ll be copying from, how to set-up your addressing/calligraphy station and tips on materials and tools. I’ll also share some tips with you on positioning your address on the envelope as well as getting your lines straight and letter size consistent when you address.

I’ll follow up the instruction portion of the class with open Q & A from participants in order of registration. Questions are welcome regarding anything calligraphy related!

Whether you plan to address a single envelope or several for a special event, this class will be beneficial. I hope you can join us! No supplies or calligraphy experience needed. Class size is limited to 20 individuals.

Once registration is complete, you will receive a link and a password from me that will allow you to log into our Zoom.us meeting on April 9th! (PLEASE READ below details below!)

Pre-Class Must Read Info:

This live, online class will be taking place via Zoom.us video conferencing software. This is free for you, no software purchase necessary. If you’ll be using a smart phone: please download the Zoom app. If you’ll be using a laptop/desktop computer: you may have a better connection with the class if you download the app for your computer. If you do not want to do that, you can simply connect via internet using the Chrome browser.

** How to join the class on Tuesday Sept 1st **

Shortly after registering for the class, you’ll receive an email from me containing a link to our meeting and a password to enter the meeting

When it is time for class to start, you’ll simply click on the link and sign on with your password. You do NOT have to be a registered Zoom user to join this class

Please join the class at 7:25 on Tues., Sept 1st (5 minutes early). You’ll sit in the “waiting room” for 5 minutes before I pop online and start the class. (Don’t be nervous if I’m not there yet, I’ll join promptly at 7:30) These 5 minutes will give you time to work through any issues you might have (not expected!) logging on.

When you enter the class, please MUTE yourself by clicking the microphone button on the bottom left. This way there won’t be a lot of ambient noise and I can start instruction. When it is time for Q & A, I’ll ask each individual to unmute to be able to ask a question for everyone to hear! Please DO have your camera on for the entire class so I can see who is joining me!

Tip: If you’ve never used zoom and would like to do a practice test to see if you’re microphone and video will work prior to this class, join a test class at Zoom to try it out!

** Some Helpful Hints **

  • If you have a headphone/microphone set (for instance the one that comes with an iphone) please use it! You’ll find you will have a better audio experience with it!

  • Remember, when you log into class, please mute yourself so I can begin teaching without ambient noise. Durning Q & A, I’ll ask students to unmute to ask questions.

  • Sit close to your router if you have trouble with internet connection in your home.

  • Any applications that are currently using internet on your device should be shut off for the best connection.

  • If for any reason you connection quits or you’re having trouble, simple quit the meeting and rejoin us with the link I gave you. No big deal!
